How To Wash a Merino Wool Sweater

How To Wash a Merino Wool Sweater

Our Italian merino wool is machine Cold washable.  The washing machine must be set at the KNIT or DELICATE Cycle in order to avoid the rotation of the machine destroying the fiber.

A consistent rinse cycle temperature ( no warm+ cold water cycles) will be needed to avoid the wool fibers from breaking down as well.

You will want to put the sweater in a mesh bag for extra protection.

You can also use high-quality, reputable woolen wash like The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo. (We love it so much!)

Fabric softener is a tricky one. Not all fabric softeners do the same thing. It is better to avoid using them.

If you can not make sure that the cycle temperature is consistent - please always dry clean the sweater.

The most important thing to note with wool sweater washing is not to put it in the dryer.

Lay flat to dry in its original shape. (if it shrinks a bit after wash, you can gently stretch it back to its original shape.)
