Gentle Wash
A delicate material like silk warrants an equally as delicate wash cycle. Silk can be cleaned effectively by hand while using a mild detergent, but silk can indeed be machine washable if the setting is gentle enough. Pair your delicate wash setting with cold water.
Use a Mesh Bag
To avoid any tearing of the silk during the machine wash process, it is recommended to place clothes into a mesh bag. Also note that silk has high potential for color bleeding, so only wash with colors alike.
Air Dry
Never put your silks in the dryer - air drying is always the way to go. To reduce the chances of wrinkling or creasing your silk piece, steam while it is still a bit damp.
