Inner Mongolia Cashmere

It takes one Mongolian goat about four years to naturally shed enough hair to make one cashmere sweater. Fiber length ranges from 0.8 inch for cheap cashmere to up to 2.5 inches for the most luxurious. The diameter of the fiber must be less than 19 microns to be considered cashmere.

Cashmere wool is an extremely fine type of fiber that is gathered from Kashmir goats. China, Tibet, and Mongolia are the world's largest producers of fine cashmere.

The length of hair also makes a difference in quality of Cashmere fabric. Longer the hair, better will be the fabric's performance in terms of pilling.

We use the longest cashmere fibres possible. Longer fibres mean reduced pilling and improved hand feel.

Hand wash your pieces in cold water with a mild detergent. Look for low-alkaline soap, the lower the alkaline level the better.

Use tool like Sweater Comb for de-pilling. Simply glide the screen across the pilled areas and it will pick up loose fibers and gather the yarn that detaches after friction and wearing. Check out How to do it here.

High heat hurts Natural Fibers. Place the sweater on a rack and reshape it as much as possible. Keep it away from sunlight and let it air-dry.
