5 Vegan Ice Cream Spots in New York - Eats of The Week

5 Vegan Ice Cream Spots in New York - Eats of The Week

As the weather starts heating up again, cool off with some vegan ice-cream, all the benefits of ice-cream without the regret! Here are SiiZU’s top 5 ice cream places to visit this summer.

1: Sweet Janes

For a restaurant that simply, but confidently states “fresh is fresh”, Sweet Janes delivers on her promise. Fresh homemade ice cream with no added corn syrups with all natural and dairy-free options, made on premises, you’re sure to want to try every ‘disastrously divine’ flavour. We loved the coconut-based blueberry lavenday, and the soy-based banana chocolate chip!

2. Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream

The Vegan scoops are made up of a wide range of organic ingredients: house-made cashew milk, coconut milk, EV coconut oil, and more. Started in Brooklyn, their natural flavours now dominate most of the states. Luckily there're enough stores that you can’t go to one.

Location: 48 E 7th St, New York, NY 10003

3: Blossom Ice Cream

The hottest (or is it coldest) trend this summer is Thai ice cream. For your vegan soy-based options check out Blossom Ice Cream. They have 3 base flavours: Fresh Coconut Flakes, Irish Cream and Graham Cracker, Rose and Fresh Strawberry. But with unlimited toppings to mix in, no two ice-creams will ever be the same!

Location: 196 Court St, Brooklyn, NY 11201

4: Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit

A staple ice cream: the soft-serve. Remember when you were a child and this was all you wanted, now no one can tell you it’s not good for you when Chloe’s exists! 3 simple ingredients and you have the perfect afternoon pick me up. Fruit, water, and a touch of organic cane sugar, no dairy, no preservatives, plain and simple. For those looking for a little extra get yours on top of some vegan waffles or the famous banana waffle parfait (served all day!)

Location: 25 E 17th St, New York, NY 10003

5: Scoops and Plates

Scoops and Plates is a vegan eatery in Brooklyn, offering eight different flavours of vegan ice cream from Tofutti to their own strawberry or Grape-nut. The owner, Tony Fongyit, has been serving the best vegetarian Caribbean food in Prospect Park for years, when you're in the area, make sure to get a full meal including dessert!
